Random Thoughts

My baby has given up pooping. And sleeping during the day. Otherwise, he is perfect. He giggles. My heart fills when he giggles.

I just googled a friend from high school. Gotta love that google. Lets you find out where people are and what they are doing without actually having to talk to them. Now I know where/what to avoid to not see this person again. Hurrah!

Lori's piece here is amazing.

Should I facebook?

Should I go to my high school class reunion?

Do you grow your own herbs? Why? What?

I am going to wash sheets and hang them on the line to dry. It is a beautiful sunny day. I cannot wait to sleep in those sheets.

I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to contribute in answer to your first two questions.

But I do grow herbs . I have basil, rosemary, mint (is that an herb?) and dill in pots on the porch. In the garden, I have sage, oregano, more basil and lavender. I use them all to cook with -- picked fresh in the summer and dried the rest of the year. I have lots and lots of basil because I like to make pesto. When the lavender flowers, I pick bunches, tie them together and hang them around the house because they smell so good.

Enjoy your line-dried sheets. What a great idea.

Well, I'm not a fan of facebook as you know, simply because I think it's boring! But you might like it?

And the not pooping thing? It's normal for a fully breastfed baby to go through that for a while, usually when they are growing fast and need the energy. It comes back, bigger than ever, and then you'll be posting about it again!

I don't know the answer to any of your questions, except i do grow a few herbs. Fresher is better! Currently i have silver thyme and greek oregano in the vegetable garden, and i sowed basil & dill seeds but they have not germinated yet, so we will see. Last year i had them in a pot (rosemary, sage, thyme) which was very pretty but i forgot them outside come winter & they all froze.

When i was first married i had a beautiful big rosemary for several years, no problem overwintering. Then we went on a vacation and someone was supposed to water but she didn't, and it died...since then i have not been able to successfully overwinter a rosemary, though i try nearly every year. It's the ghost of that plant, haunting me...

Oh PS -- yeah, Stella D'Oro is a daylily LOL. I thought when you left the comment that maybe it was an iris too and was going to look it up but i forgot. Beverly Sills, huh? Ok, i'll go with that ;)

Chloe is disappointed that they are almost all gone already -- 'my garden not pretty now'. Go smell the roses, kid, sheesh.
