Radio Flashback

I asked my good friend, a brilliant pianist, to play something beautiful for C's funeral. I secretly hoped she would play Satie's Gymnopédies No. 1.

I'm glad she didn't.

This is so very beautiful.

Can i ask you, what *did* she play?

It's a beautiful piece of music - I find it peaceful rather than sad. It makes me think of circular ripples on water. Why are you glad she didn't play it?

Rosepetal - I am glad she didn't play it because it would have tainted it for me. And I really love it.

Kate - I have no idea. I know it was an arrangement she wrote of an old Mennonite hymn. I don't want to know the title. I don't want to have any piece of beautiful music associated with C's funeral.
