I have an idea

So I was lying awake (can you believe that I am sleepless sometimes despite brain numbing tiredness???), and it came to me: as far as I know, there is no easy way for someone who has just experienced the loss of a baby to find other blogs about miscarriage, stillbirth, and/or infant death.

So here is my idea: start a Babyloss Directory blog. The left sidebar could host a blogroll of anyone who wants to be listed. The right sidebar could list helpful resources, like websites and books dealing with Babyloss. The posts could be a place to list new releases, medical journal articles, upcoming television shows, etc.

I would start this blog and ask for volunteers to help maintain it (especially someone with more technical knowledge than I have!).

My question is this: is this a good idea? Or is it redundant? Does something like this already exist?

It sounds like a wonderful idea to me. I have no idea if something like that already exists, but, if so, I certainly haven't seen it.

i'm not a blogger, but i did lose my first daughter at 38 weeks. i'm not sure how i found blogs like yours, but i know it wasn't easy . .. seems like i just stumbled across one and that opened the door. i think it's a great idea and would be happy to volunteer.

Yes, i think it is an excellent idea! Would you do it as a blog (like on blogger) or would you think it would be better to set up a website somehow?

I know that when Nicolas died it took me forever to find any resources whatsoever. I think because your brain is so totally fogged at first that you can't really manage those 'simple' things, like searching the internet...

I do have a 'list of online resources' that i include with the stillbirth baskets that i do (i can email it to you), and Catherine has a monster good list on her website. Just let me know what you need me to do!

I think this is a wonderful idea. There are (unfortunately) so many wonderful women out there who understand what it's like to suffer like this, and to know there are kindred spirits to turn to for comfort and understanding is, in my opinion, invaluable. I would love to help in any way I can. Please just let me know.
