Thanks, a Dance, and a Questions

Thank you for all of your comments - you have me thinking and a post is brewing.

Until I find a few moments, I will leave you with my happy dance. My new car is here. If you see me this weekend, I will be driving around in this:

Now, a burning question. I sing:

Ring around the rosey,
Pocket full of posies.
Hush-a, hush-a.
We all fall down.

What words do you sing? Did you know it varies by region?

It was always:

Ring-a-Ring o'Rosies
A Pocket full of Posies
Atishoo! Atishoo!
We all fall Down.

for me.

Ditto trevor exactly.
It was a song about victims of the plague in England.

You know at Beanie's 5am feed I was thinking about this and I remembered that we used to add:

"Fishes in the water, fishes in the sea
We all jump up with a one, two, three!"

I have no idea of the origins of this supplemental verse.

Ditto Trevor. I am from SA and it was always like that here.

ditto catherine. I have also heard that it is a song about the plague, and i like rosepetal's supplementary verse.

What Catherine and Clarabella said.

While I've heard that the song is about the plague, I've also heard that that interpretation is an urban legend. I suppose I'll have to go look it up.

The supplemental verse I know is:

The cows are in the meadows
Eating buttercups
Along came a bumblebee
And they all JUMPED UP!

Very interesting and also discounts the plague theory like Niobe says.
