Here is an interesting thought:
What if my diminished relationship with God has more to do with my disastrous relationship with my mother (who I can't trust emotionally) than with God?
The person who asked me that question has blown my mind - and left me with a lot to think about.
In January of 2005, my son C. died. Then he was born. These are the 8 million pieces of my life, as I pick them up,one by one.

Good luck with that one!
To me that makes a lot of sense. Though I'd never thought of it that way before, when we are babies or very young children, our parents must seem almost g-dlike in their powers and their control over us.
It would be a fairly easy psychological step to (subconsciously) transfer your feelings about your parents to your feelings about G-d.
